Job Overview
We are seeking a talented Barber and/or Braider to join our team of experts. Our shop was established in 2022 and have a strong clientele meaning both main barbers are fully booked and we are looking for someone to join the team that will have full access to walk-in customers and a chance to build their own clientele. We take bookings via the Booksy app, which will also help newer barbers/braiders to build a base of clients without having to waste time.
Duties
- Provide professional barbering services including haircuts, trims, shaves, and grooming tailored to each client’s preferences
- Perform intricate braiding styles such as box braids, cornrows, twists, and other popular hair designs
- Consult with clients to understand their desired look and recommend suitable styles based on hair type and face shape
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work station, adhering to health and safety standards at all times
- Offer friendly, personalized customer service to ensure a positive experience from start to finish
- Educate clients on hair care routines and product recommendations for maintaining styles at home
- Stay updated on current trends in barbering and braiding techniques to continuously enhance your craft
Requirements
- Proven experience in barbering and braiding with a strong portfolio of styles
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively understand client needs and explain styling options
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of hair styling products, tools, and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to accommodate client appointments during peak hours, including evenings and weekends
- Certification or licensing as required by local regulations for barbering or cosmetology (if applicable)
