Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing and related construction skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Plumber will be experienced in fitting kitchens, bathrooms, and central heating systems, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and attention to detail.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams to accurately execute plumbing tasks.
- Conduct inspections of plumbing components to identify leaks, blockages, or faulty parts, then troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
- Assemble piping systems, fixtures, and appliances with precision while adhering to safety standards and building codes.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate installation or repairs on-site.
- Utilise basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and ensuring proper alignment of plumbing components.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for project documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience with plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance in commercial or residential settings.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters, pliers, and screwdrivers; familiarity with power tools is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing systems, fixtures, valves, pumps, and related equipment.
- Ability to weld metal pipes or fittings when necessary for specialized installations or repairs.
- Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations relevant to plumbing work.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and the stamina to stand or walk for extended periods during projects.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for commercial driving responsibilities when required.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations; experience with carpentry or assembly work is advantageous.
