Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining high standards of presentation and taste
- Manage food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste and control costs
- Contribute to the training and development of junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with hygiene standards
- Participate in the preparation of specialised dishes and assist with serving when necessary
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive culinary experience with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
