We are an ambitious, brand-new care provider currently preparing our initial provider application with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We aim to deliver exceptional, high-quality care to our local community. We are seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and certified Care Manager to join us from day one. You will guide our business through the registration process and become our officially registered manager upon approval.
Role Overview
This is a temporary, hourly contract during the pre-registration setup phase. Initially, you will work closely with the directors to establish our compliance framework, draft localized policies, and prepare the CQC application portal. A critical condition of this role is that you will be put forward as our Nominated Registered Manager and must successfully pass the CQC Registered Manager Fit and Proper interview.
Please note: No regulated personal care can or will be delivered to clients until full CQC provider and manager registration is officially granted.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. CQC Application Lead: Collate, review, and submit all necessary documentation for the joint CQC Provider and Manager applications.
2. Policy & Framework Development: Write, adapt, and implement robust quality assurance systems, operational policies, and procedures in line with CQC Quality Statements and Fundamental Standards [1, 2].
3. Compliance Setup: Establish electronic or paper-based systems for client care planning, risk assessments, staff auditing, and medication management.
4. CQC Interview Preparation: Extensively prepare for and successfully pass the CQC Registered Manager assessment and interview.
5. Service Launch: Oversee the safe intake and assessment of our very first service users.
6. Recruitment: Lead the compliant interviewing, vetting, and onboarding of care staff, ensuring full compliance with safer recruitment guidelines.
7. Daily Operations: Manage the daily scheduling, staff deployment, and compliance monitoring of the care service.
Requirements and Qualifications
1. Certification: Must hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or equivalent historical qualification like RMA or NVQ Level 4).
2. CQC Knowledge: Comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 [1].
3. Track Record: Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, or Care Coordinator, ideally with a history of achieving "Good" or "Outstanding" CQC ratings.
Vetting:
Must hold or be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Remote Working: This role offers fully remote working during Phase 1 (pre-registration setup), allowing you to complete administrative tasks and policy development from home.
Flexible Hours: Manage your own schedule during the startup phase on an hourly basis.
Equipment: Remote systems access and operational support provided
This is a temporary, hourly-paid contract designed for the business setup phase.
