Senior Technician – Broadcast & Transmission Engineering
North Scotland ( Mounteagle, Dingwall, Durris, Inverness and surrounding areas)

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Technician to support the maintenance and operation of critical transmission and broadcast infrastructure across North Scotland.
You'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, fault response, system upgrades and project work across a range of RF and telecommunications systems. This is a varied field-based role working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
Due to the nature of the position, you'll also participate in a 24/7 call-out rota and must be able to travel across the region when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to faults and carry out corrective maintenance within agreed service levels
- Perform preventative maintenance activities across transmission sites
- Support network upgrades, installations and system modifications
- Complete testing, measurements and compliance checks
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Build positive relationships with internal and external customers
- Supervise contractors and ensure safe working practices are followed
- Participate in the on-call rota and emergency response duties
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety regulations
- Support project work both within and outside the region when required
- Work safely at height, including climbing structures up to 60 metres
What We're Looking For: Essential
- Must live within 40 miles of Inverness
- Full UK driving licence
- HNC (Level 4) qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Experience of preventative and corrective maintenance in an engineering environment
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of health and safety practices
- Willingness to work away from home when required
- Ability to participate in a 24/7 call-out rota
- Comfortable working at height and climbing structures up to 60 metres
