Who We Are
At Bay Photonics we specialise in prototyping and low-medium volume assembly of photonic and quantum device packaging that require a flexible and technically innovative approach.
Located in the Southwest of the UK, with our office in Paignton at the Electronics & Photonics Innovation Centre (EPIC), we are housed with other members of the Torbay Photonics Cluster ecosystem and together offer extended expertise and capability.
Role Overview
- Be involved with technical demands and design solutions for the successful manufacture to the customers specification.
- The development of bespoke packaging requirements, including the assembly of components, wire bonding, fibre alignment, hermetically sealing and testing of the finished product.
- Program writing for auto equipment, including die bonders and wire bonders.
- Working with the mechanical design department
- Work with the supplier development team
- Working with the quality department
- Get an understanding of the sales and marketing strategies!
Desired Experience/Skills
- Competent use of Microsoft Office software
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- GCSE Maths (Grade C/4 or above), GCSE English (Grade C/4 or above)

- Able to work collaboratively with team members, as well as independently using own initiative
- Highly motivated and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus
