Football Grounds Operative
Location: Hedge End
Salary: £26,500 - £28,000 + Benefits
Are you passionate about outdoor work and have a keen eye for detail? My client is looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join their team, maintaining high-quality sports turf and grounds.
The Role:
As a key member of the grounds team, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of sports surfaces including football pitches, and training grounds. Your role will ensure safe, professional, and visually excellent playing surfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mowing, line marking, scarifying, aerating, and topdressing turf
- Using professional groundskeeping machinery and hand tools
- Fertilising and weed control under health & safety guidelines
- General site upkeep including hedge trimming, litter picking, and minor repairs
- Supporting with match-day preparation and post-match recovery
About You:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance or sports turf preferred
- Familiarity with machinery operation and basic mechanical knowledge
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and happy to work outdoors in all weathers
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Maintenance (desirable, not essential)
