Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, demonstrate strong leadership qualities, and have experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen assistants
- Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency
- Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards and proper storage procedures
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning and development to introduce new dishes and seasonal specials
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control effectively
- Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and hospitality excellence
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment specialising in Indian cuisine or similar culinary traditions
- Extensive food production experience with a focus on authentic Indian cooking techniques
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse kitchen staff
- Demonstrable expertise in food preparation, cooking, and presentation standards in a restaurant setting
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within hospitality establishments
- Previous experience working in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
