Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company standards.
- Prepare high-quality dishes in line with menu specifications and customer expectations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen.
- Support food production processes, including portion control, plating, and garnishing.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste through effective stock control.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork and professionalism.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques.
- Extensive kitchen experience with a solid understanding of culinary practices and standards.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
