Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team and maintain high standards of cleanliness across the nursery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all areas are hygienic, organised, and presentable, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy maintaining clean, orderly spaces.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of floors and surfaces
- Clean and sanitise restrooms, kitchens, and other communal areas to high standards
- Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are stored safely and efficiently
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
- Report any maintenance issues or damage to management promptly
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed within scheduled timeframes to support operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties which may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
