We are looking for a Material Review Board (MRB) / Concession T100 Design Engineer to join our aerospace engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end concession and non-conformance activities, supporting the review, assessment, validation, and coordination of engineering dispositions for structural parts and assemblies. The position requires strong understanding of Airbus design processes, airworthiness requirements, metallic and composite structures, and prior experience in Airbus concession and MRB activities. You will work closely with quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering stakeholders to ensure non-conformities are assessed accurately and resolved with the most appropriate technical and business outcome, balancing cost, time, performance, and installation requirements. The role also includes support for design liaison, design for manufacture, recurring defect analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end workflow for concessions, including preparation, writing, validation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Handle Managing Non-Conformities (MNCs) and concessions, including engineering design assessments and technical validations.
- Provide Design Liaison and Design for Manufacture support, including preliminary QSR, DQN, and WQN investigations and support for green quality gate achievement.
- Review concession data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and technical correctness.
- Analyse deviations from engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and process requirements to determine appropriate disposition.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to clarify issues related to non-conformities and concession requirements.
- Liaise with multiple functions to ensure the most suitable repair solution is achieved, considering cost, schedule, performance, and installation constraints.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain team to confirm the availability of rare repair fasteners before finalizing disposition decisions.
- Provide disposition decisions such as use-as-is, repair, rework, scrap, or return to supplier.
- Identify recurring issues and escalate them for corrective and preventive action.
- Recommend design improvements to engineering teams for repetitive defects and support manufacturing teams in strengthening process controls.
- Design special parts, where required, to resolve non-conformities effectively.
- Review concessions and recommend design change requests where the root cause of the non-conformity is design-related.
- Manage engineering data, documentation, and deliverables in compliance with quality and configuration management requirements.
- Support digital continuity initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement in design, communication, and engineering processes.
- Act as a technical representative for onsite-offshore coordination, addressing queries, Return to Task (RTT) clarifications, and technical escalations.
Requirements
- BE / BTech / MTech / MS or equivalent degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Material Review Board (MRB) Design or related aerospace design disposition roles.
- Previous Airbus concession experience is mandatory.
- Good general knowledge, understanding, and practical use of Airbus documentation and specifications, including, Acceptance criteria / installation instructions, VPM, ASR, SAP, Suffix and ASR usage, flushness requirements.
- Strong knowledge of non-conformity declaration processes for structural parts and assemblies.
- Solid understanding of aerospace design principles and airworthiness requirements.
- Good knowledge of metallic and composite design principles.
- Strong familiarity with Airbus design processes and procedures, including RSDP, SIDP, AP, ABD, AIPI, AIPS, and related standards.
- Experience using Airbus Supply tools and platforms such as DocMaster, Airnavx, and related systems.
- Valid Airbus training certifications in SAP, VPM, and PASS SSI.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills with the ability to assess technical deviations and define appropriate dispositions.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and multi-location teams, including engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support both onsite and offshore coordination in a structured engineering environment.
