Job Overview
To ensure the efficient operation of the weighbridge and reception functions, providing excellent customer service to drivers, visitors, customers and contractors. The role is responsible for accurately recording vehicle movements, processing waste documentation, coordinating deliveries, maintaining system records, and supporting the safe and compliant operation of the site
Key Responsibilities:
Weighbridge Operations
- Operate the weighbridge, accurately weighing vehicles in and out of site and ensuring vehicles comply with weight restrictions before departure
- Process inbound and outbound loads, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Check third-party delivery documentation and consignment notes, identifying any materials requiring separate weighing and communicating requirements to yard staff
- Generate and complete consignment notes using the QC Pro system and ensure records match customer and supplier documentation
- Sign off consignment notes with the correct weights and any relevant operational information
- Liaise with yard operations and process teams regarding vehicle movements, tanker arrivals, offloading activities and operational queries
- Raise non-conformances as required and communicate with customers regarding discrepancies or compliance issues
Administration & Compliance
- Print, scan, file and upload documentation to QC Pro and other systems in accordance with company procedures
- Maintain accurate records of weighbridge transactions, transport documentation and compliance paperwork
- Complete transport and waste-related documentation as required
- Enter and maintain export and waste movement records, ensuring all documentation is processed correctly
- Produce routine reports and provide administrative support to management as required
Bookings & Customer Service
- Booking emails – keeping an awareness of the booking inbox, allocating customer slots where available
- Request and review load lists and purchase orders in advance of arrivals
- Verify incoming waste streams are permitted for acceptance on site
- Raise QC documentation from customer load lists and prepare labels for operational use
- Provide a professional, friendly and efficient service to drivers, visitors, contractors and customers
- Manage weighbridge reception activities, welcoming visitors and customers
Site Support
- Ensure visitors, contractors and drivers receive appropriate site information and comply with health and safety requirements
- Keep the weighbridge area organised, professional and compliant
- Support wider administration activities and undertake other duties as required by the business
Qualifications and Experience
Required
· GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
· Competent in Microsoft Office and database systems.
· Ability to learn and use specialist weighbridge and waste management systems.
Experience
· Previous administrative experience.
· Experience providing customer service in a busy environment.
· Experience processing documentation and maintaining accurate records.
· Experience managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Desirable
· Experience operating a weighbridge.
· Experience within waste management, logistics, transport, recycling or industrial environments.
· Experience using compliance or consignment management systems.

Hours of work: 40 hours / week - Monday - Friday

Contract type: Permanent
Salary range: £30,000:00 (DOE)
