We are seeking an individual to lead health, safety, and facilities management across the business—providing an opportunity to collaborate closely with senior leadership, influence company-wide strategy, and ensure our environment supports both performance and wellbeing.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the senior leadership team and collaborating with all departments across the business, you will be responsible for driving a proactive safety culture while ensuring that all facilities are maintained, compliant, and fit for purpose.
The roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Health & Safety Leadership:
- Develop and lead the company's H&S strategy, policies and standards in line with UK legislation, HSE guidance and best practice.
- Build and maintain a proactive safety culture, encouraging ownership and accountability at all levels.
- Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections, incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Establish and monitor meaningful H&S KPIs, reporting and visual management.
- Support managers with practical risk reduction and safe working practices.
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and relevant H&S training.
- Manage key areas including COSHH, machinery safety, fire safety and occupational health.
- Ensure employees, contractors and visitors comply with RAMS, PPE and site safety requirements.
Facilities Management:
- Take overall responsibility for the site's facilities, infrastructure and maintenance activities, ensuring they are safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Develop and continually improve PPM and TPM practices to maximise equipment reliability and operational performance.
- Establish appropriate Facilities and Maintenance KPIs to monitor performance, reliability and service levels.
- Develop effective asset management, including equipment criticality, maintenance planning and critical spares.
- Manage contractors, statutory compliance and facilities projects while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, utilisation and the working environment.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement:
- Maintain effective systems and records covering H&S, facilities, incidents, audits and corrective actions.
- Ensure statutory inspections and regulatory requirements are effectively managed and maintained.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across H&S, facilities and maintenance.
- Provide clear reporting to Senior Leadership on performance, risks, compliance and improvement opportunities.
THE SKILLS

Essential:
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and HSE guidance.
- Practical experience in risk assessment, auditing, incident investigation and corrective actions.
- Experience managing facilities, maintenance, or site services.
- Ability to influence and engage people at all levels, from shop floor to senior leadership.
- Experience developing and using H&S, facilities or maintenance KPIs and performance reporting.
- Confident using digital systems to manage compliance, actions, maintenance and performance data.
- Ability to balance safety, compliance and operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or higher).
- IOSH Membership (or working towards).
- NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience implementing or improving H&S, facilities or maintenance management systems.
- Experience with asset management, PPM/TPM, equipment criticality or maintenance planning.
- Knowledge of environmental or sustainability practices.

SALARY: £43,000 - £47,000 dependant on experience and qualifications
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
