Steer Automotive Group is looking for an experienced Panel Technician / Panel Beater to join our busy accident repair centre in Edinburgh.

You'll be joining one of the UK's leading accident repair groups, working in a modern bodyshop with high-quality repair equipment, manufacturer-approved repair methods and opportunities to develop your career.
The Role
As a Panel Technician / Panel Beater, you'll carry out high-quality structural and cosmetic vehicle repairs, restoring damaged vehicles safely and efficiently to manufacturer standards.
You'll work alongside our Paint Technicians, MET Technicians, Vehicle Damage Assessors and wider bodyshop team to ensure repairs are completed to the highest possible standard.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out structural and cosmetic panel repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles
Remove, repair, replace and correctly align damaged vehicle panels
Carry out panel beating and vehicle body repairs to a high standard
Complete MIG/MAG welding and structural repair work where required
Follow manufacturer-approved repair methods and technical specifications
Ensure all repairs meet required quality and safety standards
Work efficiently to agreed productivity targets while maintaining excellent workmanship
Identify additional damage or repair requirements during the repair process
Work closely with Paint Technicians, MET Technicians and the wider accident repair team
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
About You
We're looking for an experienced automotive repair professional with:
Previous experience as a Panel Technician, Panel Beater, Bodyshop Technician or Vehicle Body Repair Technician
Experience working within an accident repair centre, bodyshop or similar automotive repair environment
Strong panel beating and vehicle body repair skills
Knowledge of modern structural and cosmetic repair techniques
Experience with MIG/MAG welding and structural repairs
Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality repairs
The ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a busy bodyshop team
ATA or equivalent accreditation is desirable but not essential
