Night Shift Production Team – 2 Positions Available
£13.50 per hour Sunday to Thursday | 10:00pm – 6:00amTemporary position – minimum 3 months
Due to an extremely busy period, we’re recruiting two people to join our night production team:
- 1 x Lead Machine Operative – an experienced machine operator who will take the lead on our main production machinery and night production.
- 1 x Machine Operative – working alongside the Lead Machine Operative, supporting production, making boxes, running sleeves and helping to keep the night shift moving efficiently.
Both are hands-on roles in a fast-paced production environment. The Lead Machine Operative must be confident operating machinery, taking responsibility for keeping production running efficiently and working to targets.
Our bespoke production machinery is specific to our operation, so full training will be provided. Previous production or manufacturing machine experience is essential for the Lead Machine Operative role.
The two roles will work closely together throughout the night to keep production running smoothly and ensure the shift’s workload is completed.
What you’ll be doing
- Setting up and operating bespoke production machinery
- Keeping the machine running efficiently and working to production targets
- Changing tooling and completing machine changeovers
- Identifying and troubleshooting basic machine issues
- Operating our dating/coding machine
- Completing production paperwork accurately
- Carrying out quality checks throughout production
- Making and preparing boxes
- Running sleeves through our sleeving machine
- Handling and lifting sacks weighing up to 25kg
- Completing a full clean-down of the production machinery and production area at the end of the shift
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the night
- Reporting machine faults or production issues
Lead Machine Operative
- Previous experience operating production or manufacturing machinery
- Confidence setting up, adjusting and troubleshooting machinery
- Someone capable of taking the lead and working with minimal supervision
- Able to take ownership of production targets and keep the shift moving
- Confident completing production paperwork and quality checks
Machine Operative
- Previous production, warehouse or machine experience would be an advantage
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
- Able to make and prepare boxes and run sleeves through our sleeving machine
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to support wherever needed in production
For both roles
- Reliable and comfortable working a regular night shift
- Able to work at pace and consistently hit production targets
- Physically capable of an active role, including lifting and handling 25kg sacks
- A team player who is willing to get involved wherever needed to keep production moving
- Someone who takes pride in keeping their machinery and working area clean and organised

Pay
£13.00-£13.50 per hour
Contract
This is a temporary position for a minimum of 3 months, created to support the business during an extremely busy period. There may be the possibility of further work beyond this period depending on business requirements, but a permanent position cannot be guaranteed.
