The role of the Customer Service / Sales Administrator is diverse, fast-paced and demanding. This position plays a key role in supporting customers, retailers and the wider sales team by ensuring orders are processed accurately and customer enquiries are handled efficiently and professionally.
This is a fully office-based position at our Jarrow facility, with no remote or hybrid working available. The successful candidate will be expected to work on-site as part of a collaborative customer service team. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with a daily 30-minute lunch break. During your employment, full in-house training and ongoing on-the-job support will be provided to ensure you develop the knowledge and skills required to succeed within the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email.
- Process customer orders accurately using the company's bespoke ordering system.
- Provide product information and support relating to Be Modern's heating product range.
- Liaise with customers, retailers and internal departments.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate customer and order records.
- Support the sales team with administration and customer follow-up activities.
- Monitor order progress and communicate updates to customers where required.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times.
- Contribute positively to the achievement of team and departmental objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly telephone manner.
- Previous experience in a customer service, sales administration, order processing or office administration role.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive, proactive and flexible approach to work.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are desirable.
Training & Development
Previous experience within the heating industry is desirable but not essential. Full in-house training and ongoing on-the-job support will be provided, including:
- Product knowledge across Be Modern's heating brands.
- Training on company systems and order processing procedures.
- Customer service and complaint-handling processes.

Additional Information
- Occasional visits to production, warehouse or dispatch areas may be required to support customer queries and order administration. Any necessary training and PPE will be provided.
- This role is subject to a six-month probationary period.
