Duties
- Assist in preparing ingredients and components for menu items, ensuring all food safety standards are met
- Support senior chefs with cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to hygiene regulations
- Help with meal preparation during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Follow instructions from head chefs regarding special menus or dietary requirements
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and proper storage of ingredients
- Contribute positively to the team environment by demonstrating a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Qualifications
- A keen interest in food preparation, cooking, and the culinary arts
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to undertake training and develop new skills in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of meal preparation and serving procedures is desirable
