Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Bank Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals according to established recipes and standards
- Support the cooking process by following instructions from senior kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitising work surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times
- Help with serving meals to residents or customers in a timely and courteous manner
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents or contamination within the kitchen environment
- Support other kitchen staff during busy periods, contributing to a collaborative team effort
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking within a professional kitchen setting is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
- Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail
- Previous restaurant or catering experience is advantageous but not essential
- Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude when serving residents or customers
