Gorsey Clough Nursing Home is looking for a compassionate and experienced Sister/Charge Nurse to join our dedicated night team.
We provide high-quality, person centred nursing and dementia care for older people in a warm and supportive environment. The Role
As Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership throughout the night, working alongside the Registered Manager and Care Services Manager to ensure the highest standards of resident care. You will lead the night team, oversee clinical practice, and support the safe and effective running of the home.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and support to the nursing and care teams.
- Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care, including assessment, care planning and evaluation.
- Safely administer and manage medications in line with NMC and CQC standards.
- Supervise, mentor and support colleagues.
- Complete clinical procedures including observations, wound care, PEG care and other competencies appropriate to your training.
- Develop and review care plans and risk assessments.
- Promote residents' dignity, independence, wellbeing and safety.
- Liaise effectively with residents, relatives, GPs and the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and respond appropriately to changing care needs.
- Coordinate hospital admissions, discharges and emergency situations as required.
- In the absence of the Registered Manager or Care Services Manager, oversee the safe and effective running of the home during the night.
About You
- Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration.
- Excellent clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
- Experience in elderly care, nursing homes or dementia care is desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A compassionate, person-centred approach with a passion for delivering exceptional care.
