Press Brake Setter

About the Role
Laser Expertise is looking for an experienced Press Brake Setter to join our growing manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role for someone who can confidently set and operate CNC press brakes, interpret engineering drawings and produce high-quality folded components to tight tolerances.
Working within a busy fabrication environment, you will be responsible for setting machines, bending a variety of materials and ensuring all work meets the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC press brake machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Select the correct tooling and machine settings for each job.
- Produce high-quality folded and bent components to specification.
- Carry out first-off inspections and regular quality checks during production.
- Measure components using engineering measuring equipment including verniers, rulers and angle gauges.
- Adjust machine settings where required to maintain quality and accuracy.
- Work to production schedules and achieve agreed output targets.
- Identify quality issues and report any machine faults or production concerns.
- Ensure work areas remain clean, organised and safe.
- Follow all company health & safety procedures.
- Support colleagues and assist with other fabrication duties where required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience as a Press Brake Setter / Operator.
- Experience setting and operating CNC press brakes.
- Confident carrying out bending operations on a range of materials and thicknesses.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Experience selecting tooling and programming or adjusting machine settings.
- Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
- Good understanding of fabrication processes.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience with Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar press brake machinery.
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Crane or lifting equipment experience.
- Fabrication or sheet metal background.
