About this opportunity:
An exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team carrying out all basic stable duties whilst training for your Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship will guarantee that you will be trained and supported to fully prepare you for your career in the industry. This is a top class yard where previous staff have gone on to be medal winners! Judy has an excellent yard where they train dressage horses and riders from basics to grand prix. Come and join her team now! This apprenticeship can be offered at level 2 or 3 depending if a candidate already holds their level 2.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain excellent skills and knowledge that is required of the modern equine groom. It will provide the successful applicant with valuable experience and a strong foundation to prepare them ready for a career in the industry.
A typical day involves:
We organise the day over a cup of coffee
Turn out and bring in
field maintenance
exercising and rehabilitation work
stable management
getting horses ready for competitions
assisting with professional visits such as farrier and dentists etc.
Apprentices are a key part of our fun and friendly team and will carry out all yard duties and be given opportunities to experience and develop a wide range of industry skills.
Desired skills
Applicants MUST have basic stable and riding skills from previous experience with horses. Details must be shown on application

GCSEs or equivalent in maths and English at grade C/4/Level 2 are desired but not essential

Future full employment as a fully trained groom for the right candidate may be possible.
Training
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship.
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and onsite visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their
