We are looking for a passionate and motivated Deputy manager to join our setting and become part of our nursery team. We are a day nursery in Ipswich who love outdoor learning, working with Loose parts and natural resources.
We are open 51 weeks of the year and the weekly hours are 38hrs - 40hrs a week.
The deputy will lead a team of staff on a day to day basis and support children, families and staff throughout the day. They will have a passion for Early Years and experience within a childcare setting. Opportunities to be involved in training within the Early Years sector. We recently opened in Ipswich and are looking to build the team with the increase of children numbers.
Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
- Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social and emotional growth.
- Manage daily routines, including meal times, playtime, and rest periods.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external professionals regarding children's needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting.
- Drive initiatives that support the overall development of early childhood education within the facility.
- Office duties in managers absence: emails, timesheets, nursery visits
- Support staff training
Experience
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- A background in nursery settings is essential
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth.
