Crown Care Group is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Night Manager to join our dedicated team at Goldsborough Manor, a luxurious 62-bed care home situated in the peaceful village of Strensall, York.
Goldsborough Manor provides high-quality, person-centred residential and dementia care in a beautiful environment. We are seeking a compassionate, confident, and experienced individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional care while leading and developing a strong night team.
About the Role
As Night Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and effective running of the home throughout the night. You will lead by example, support your colleagues, and ensure residents receive outstanding care and support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing visible leadership and support to the night team.
- Create, nurture, and develop the night team, building confidence, consistency, and strong communication.
- Ensuring safe, person-centred care is delivered at all times.
- Creating, reviewing, and updating care plans and supporting colleagues with accurate documentation.
- Administering medication safely and in accordance with best practice.
- Managing the night rota and supporting staffing requirements.
- Conducting supervisions, return-to-work interviews, and appraisals.
- Supporting and developing team members through coaching and guidance.
- Working closely with the Unit Manager, Deputy Manager, and Home Manager to maintain continuity across the service.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and CQC standards.
- Responding to incidents, emergencies, safeguarding concerns, and clinical needs professionally and effectively.
- Participating in the on-call rota.
- Acting as a positive role model and promoting high standards of care and professionalism throughout the team.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience within a care home environment.
- Experience supporting residents living with dementia.
- Experience in a senior care position such as Senior Carer, Team Leader, Night Senior, or similar.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Confidence in managing care delivery, documentation, and clinical responsibilities.
- The ability to use initiative, make sound decisions, and prioritise resident wellbeing.
- A calm, compassionate, and professional approach.
- An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or above (Level 5 desirable, or willingness to work towards).
