The Principal Registered Home Manager role is designed for a proven Senior Registered Manager who can deliver excellent results within their own homes while also strengthening the performance of newer and developing Home Managers across the organisation.

In addition, you will provide structured support, professional challenge and practical guidance to designated Home Managers, particularly during mobilisation, registration, inspection preparation and periods of service development.
A message from Daniel, Company Director
My name is Daniel, and I am one of the Company Directors and Co-Founders. The organisation was created from my own lived experience of growing up in care.
I know first-hand how important it is for young people to have safe, stable and nurturing homes, with adults around them who genuinely care, remain committed and do not give up when things become difficult.
We are looking for leaders who understand the responsibility that comes with running children’s homes, developing staff teams and creating the right culture for young people who may have experienced trauma, instability and rejection. Our standards are exceptionally high because the children we care for deserve nothing less.
We want people who will lead from the front, remain hands-on and combine compassion with clear accountability. As we continue to grow, we will invest in and properly reward those who help us build safe, stable and high-performing homes without losing sight of why the organisation exists.
The opportunity
This position recognises Registered Managers who have already demonstrated sustained regulatory, operational and leadership performance. It provides greater responsibility and greater earning potential without moving the postholder away from the direct leadership of children’s homes.
The Principal Registered Home Manager will remain accountable for their own registered homes and will also support selected junior, newly appointed or developing Home Managers. The role requires credibility, sound judgement and the ability to coach, challenge and transfer good practice without removing accountability from the manager being supported.
You will be expected to combine:
- Consistently high-quality, child-centred care and safeguarding practice
- Strong Ofsted knowledge and a record of Good or Outstanding outcomes
- Commercial awareness, budget control and effective staffing management
- Credible coaching, mentoring and performance support for other Home Managers
- Practical knowledge of mobilising and opening new children’s homes
- Excellent systems, IT, recording and analytical capability
- Visible, decisive and accountable leadership
What you will be responsible for
- Leading the day-to-day operation of your own solo residential children’s homes.
- Holding the required Ofsted registrations and maintaining full accountability for your responsible homes.
- Ensuring children receive safe, stable and individualised care that delivers positive outcomes.
- Maintaining compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements.
- Delivering strong occupancy, placement stability, staffing and budget performance within your own homes.
- Providing structured mentoring, coaching and professional challenge to designated Home Managers.
- Supporting new Home Managers through induction, mobilisation, registration and inspection preparation.
- Reviewing improvement plans, audits and key performance information with supported managers.
- Sharing effective systems and practice relating to staffing, recording, quality assurance and regulatory readiness.
- Supporting the mobilisation and opening of new children’s homes.
- Escalating safeguarding, quality or performance concerns promptly to the Head of Residential Childcare and Responsible Individual.
- Contributing to management development, recruitment and succession planning across the organisation.
- Participating in the management on-call rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
Your KPI opportunity
You will have the opportunity to earn an annual discretionary KPI bonus of up to £20,000. The framework will recognise both the performance of your own homes and the additional impact you make through supporting other managers and organisational growth.
Performance measures will include:
- Ofsted outcomes across your responsible homes
- Occupancy and placement stability
- Staffing, supervision and workforce performance
- Budget management and operational control
- Director standards inspections and quality assurance
- Delivery of agreed manager-support and development objectives
- Contribution to successful mobilisation and registration activity
Your wider benefits package
In addition to salary and KPI earnings, the proposed employee and management benefits package has an indicative first-year value of approximately £9,500+, before special recognition awards or company car scheme value.
- Company car scheme access
- 36 days’ paid holiday, comprising 28 days plus 8 bank holidays
- Private medical care
- Life insurance scheme
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Healthcare cashback scheme
- Employee discounts and benefits platform
- £250 fuel allowance for authorised travel between homes
- Company-funded Level 5 qualification, where required
- Management CPD and professional development
- Dedicated Ofsted preparation support
- Management development and future progression opportunities
- Company-funded DBS renewals
- Free meals and activities on qualifying shifts
- Guaranteed birthday day off
- £500 following successful registration of a first home and a further £500 following successful registration of a second home
- Attendance and Reliability Bonus of up to £1,500 per year, subject to eligibility
- Length of Service Benefit of up to £1,000 per year after one year’s service, subject to eligibility
- Access to employee recognition awards, including the Employee of the Year holiday prize
