As a Team Member, your role will include working within the Production Team in any appropriate role within the Packhall and Washlines, ensuring safe and efficient production of orders within customer specifications.
Any successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills further, becoming multi-skilled and flexible to cover roles such as Machine Operators, Forklift Drivers and QA Team Members. With these additional skills there is further opportunity to increase hourly pay rates.
- Carrying out manual packing and stacking of up to 25kg of finished product throughout the working day
- Building shippers and palletainers as required
- Monitoring product and finished packs to ensure any defects or errors are reporting to the Production Lead/QA Team
- Assisting the Machine Operator to carry tubes and reels of film for changeovers
- Operating the bag stitcher
- Ensuring orders are met on time and in full, supporting the wider Production team with flexibility
- Following the ‘clean as you go’ procedure to ensure a clean and tidy environment is kept at all times
- Flexible to work between the Packhall and Washlines departments
- Understanding potato varieties and their defects
- Utilising any downtime by seeking further activities e.g. sweeping, lining trays
- Communicating with all colleagues and management in an appropriate manner
- Experience within a similar Food Operative role, ideally in Fresh Produce
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Experience working with machinery, forklifts and pallet trucks/barrow trucks would help the successful candidate develop skills
- Good communication skills
- Great team player with flexibility to support other Team Members and the wider Production team
