JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: CARE AND SUPPORT WORKER **WEEKEND WORK**
RESPONSIBLE TO: PROPRIETOR AND THE REGISTERED MANAGER/ SENIOR WORKER
JOB PURPOSE
To promote independence and provide a high-quality home care to customers within the community. To support and assist customers to remain as independent as possible in their own homes or other establishments for as long as they are able. Please note that the general responsibilities of the job are likely to change from time to time to meet the needs of the service.
SERVICES PROVIDED
§ Personal care i.e. washing, bathing, dressing, toileting and incontinence, eat and drink and prompt medication.
- Practical Support i.e. cleaning, laundry, bed making, shopping, preparation of meals and household tasks.
- Social and respite care i.e. respite, companionship, night sitting, 24-hour care and accompanying for trips or outings.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
§ To carry out all outcomes as detailed in individual customer support plans/agreed customer requirement list to provide a high standard of care for both Social Services and private customers.
§ To contact the office or senior home care workers in the case of any problems or incidents involving customers.
§ To promote privacy and dignity when supporting a customer at all times. Also, to support when making choices and uphold rights and decisions of the customer at all times.
§ To check that Customer Delivery Plans, meet with customer requirements and are up to date.
§ In the case of social services customers, ensure that record books are in place and are accurately maintained at all times.
§ To ensure that replacement sheets are available when one has been completed.
§ To meet Health and Safety requirements as described within the CCSL Staff Handbook.
§ To maintain confidentiality at all times, except with a safeguarding disclosure, reporting that a person is at risk of harm or injury or a criminal act.
§ To adhere to current infection legislation with regards to the client and staff.
§ To create a supportive atmosphere using person centered approach where customers can achieve maximum independence and social inclusion.
§ To liaise and maintain good working relations with other agencies and statutory bodies.
§ To promote anti discriminatory practise and equality for all individuals.
§ Support customers through effective communication.
§ To ensure Mar chart and any relevant documentation regarding medications are completed accurately.
§ To ensure that time sheets are completed for each customer and are delivered to the office in accordance with guidelines.
§ To carry an up-to-date ID badge at all times and wear appropriate clothing, i.e. low shoes, minimum jewellery etc, and always be tidy and well-groomed. Wear Classic Care Uniform.
§ To attend all Mandatory training sessions and Annual updates.
§ Within 4 weeks of commencement with the company, to have a full understanding of the CCSL Handbook and relevant policies and procedures.
§ To attend a minimum of 4 supervisions either individual or group sessions a year along with a yearly Appraisal complying with CQC guidelines
- To attend the mandatory staff meetings per year. (2 is the minimum).
Pay: £13.00-£15.50 per hour
