Job Summary
The HGV Class II Dustcart Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste and recycling materials using a dustcart vehicle. The role involves driving to designated collection routes, assisting loaders where required, and ensuring compliance with all road safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate an HGV Class II dustcart vehicle safely and in accordance with all traffic laws and company procedures
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly
- Complete scheduled waste and recycling collections on assigned routes
- Ensure waste is collected and transported safely to disposal or recycling facilities
- Assist loaders with waste collection when required
- Maintain accurate records, including vehicle check sheets, defect reports, and collection documentation
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with the public and customers
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and tidy
Requirements
Essential:
- Valid HGV Class II (Category C) driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Digital tachograph card
- Good knowledge of driving regulations and road safety
- Good level of physical fitness
- Ability to work early mornings and outdoors in all weather conditions
Desirable:
- Previous dustcart or waste collection experience
- Good knowledge of local area

Pay: £17.00-£19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30.0 per week
