To support Radiology staff with all aspects of patient bookings. To be the first line of contact for patients, visitors and staff to the department. To perform reception and clerical duties as required supporting the Radiology Department.
To book in patients, and maintain a record of patients using the in-house radiology computer system and local PAS system (training will be given). To register new patients on Local PAS and RIS systems as required.
To ensure radiology requests are entered on to the RIS system in a timely and accurate manner, cross indexing with RIS and local PAS system, identifying if a procedure is to go on the diagnostic or planned waiting list.
To raise requests on the local PAS system for clinic and book clinic appointments accordingly
Work with the Trusts electronic request system and ensuring all patients are monitored and booked off the electronic request system within the 6 week diagnostic waiting target or within the planned request date.
To answer any telephone queries from patients, other hospitals, G.P.s, other departments within the hospital or re-direct them on to the relevant person or take messages as appropriate.
To escort or direct patients from main waiting area to sub-waiting areas within the department / hospital as required. Attend to any patient requirements whilst they are in the waiting areas.
To carry out any other duties as may be requested and to provide cover during absence of other reception staff within the department
