Campbells Prime Meat Ltd, a Sysco company, is Scotland’s leading meat, fish and delicatessen supplier to hotels and restaurants. In addition to our butchery and fish processing activities we also manufacture a full range of sausages, burgers, haggis, black pudding and smoked fish at our factory in Linlithgow which is open 24 hours a day, 6 days a week and located close to the M9, providing excellent links to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Background
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a training assistant, to join the growing training team at our site in Linlithgow. Reporting to our Training Manger and working closely with our wider management and production teams, you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety, food safety and operational standards and across the site, promoting a strong culture of safety awareness and quality assurance.
The Role
To support Training Manager with training delivery, tracking completion rates, assessing competency level of personnel and making sure our site training programme is implemented to agreed timescales and targets.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires, but is not limited to:
· Face to face training delivery
· Ability to clearly demonstrate and explain correct and safe procedures
· Monitor and observe personnel against training standards to ensure compliance
· Assess competency and provide feedback for improvement or retraining
· Keep accurate and clear data records for audit purposes
· Review completion rates and create training schedule accordingly
· Maintain and update clear training materials
· Assist Training Manager and Operations Director with additional tasks and project work as reasonable and required
Ideal Candidate
Will have a passion for training, an interest in the food industry and a desire to learn about processes, food safety and health and safety procedures. A qualification in training and / or food science field or 1-2 years relevant experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills – oral and written – are essential for this role
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications especially Word, Excel and Outlook are essential
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review documents for accuracy and correctness
- Effective organisation skills and ability to prioritise workload
· Ability to work well within a team and with other departments
· Demonstrate a flexible approach to work and manage time critical assignments
· Food safety and health & safety certification and an understanding of HACCP principles would be advantageous

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday (Dayshift). There is a requirement to support nightshift/weekend training on a flexible basis. This would be shared with the Training Manager and be agreed and arranged in advance.
Salary is negotiable, depending on experience. Own transport is required, due to our location.
