Operating from a 94,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in the High Peak, Derbyshire, we produce a diverse range of thermoplastic products — from straightforward commodity items to bespoke, technically demanding profiles. We supply a variety of industries and work in close partnership with our customers, supporting all aspects of the extrusion and moulding process from design through to manufacture.
Role Purpose
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage and dispatch of raw materials, finished goods, bags and stillages across the site. This is a hands-on role that requires a practical, organised individual who can work to production schedules and maintain high standards of accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload deliveries of raw materials, finished goods, bags and stillages using a counterbalance forklift truck.
- Move stock, bags and stillages between production areas, storage locations and dispatch zones safely and efficiently.
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately and in line with delivery schedules.
- Read and work to daily transport schedules, ensuring goods are prepared and dispatched on time.
- Receive goods into the warehouse, checking deliveries and reporting any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate stock records using the company’s warehouse management / ERP systems (e.g. Sage 200).
- Carry out regular stock counts and cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure all warehouse areas are kept clean, tidy and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Operate forklift trucks in accordance with site rules and relevant legislation at all times.
- Label, tag and store products correctly, following FIFO (first in, first out) principles.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including supporting production and logistics teams during busy periods.
Essential Requirements
- Valid and in-date counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Competent in using warehouse management systems, ERP software or stock control systems.
- Good numerical skills with the ability to accurately count, measure and reconcile stock.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting bags and moving stillages.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Able to read and interpret transport schedules and delivery documentation.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within a plastics manufacturing or extrusion environment.
- Familiarity with Sage 200 or similar ERP systems.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Experience with goods-in inspection processes and quality checks.
- IOSH or similar health and safety qualification.
