The Boarding House in Howwood, Renfrewshire is seeking a passionate and proactive Restaurant Supervisor to join our growing team!
We are a local, award-winning gastro pub proud of our excellent service, top-quality ingredients, and strong community presence. Our standards are high—we’re always evolving to enhance our guest experience. With a casual dining vibe, regular live music, and seasonal events, we offer a warm and dynamic environment for both guests and staff.
We’re open 7 days a week, so applicants must be flexible and able to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on supervisory position ideal for candidates who are passionate about food, drink, and hospitality. You’ll lead by example on the floor, support and motivate the front-of-house team, and help deliver exceptional guest experiences.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is a genuine foodie with an interest in seasonal, on-trend food and drink.
- Has a working knowledge of cocktails, wine, and bar service (training will be provided to build deeper knowledge).
- Is confident with social media and can help promote the venue through engaging content and storytelling, But it is not a deal breaker.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily service operations, ensuring a smooth opening, running, and close.
- Front door, meeting and greeting customers in an outgoing and exciting manner
- Have strong reservation systems experience and no how to maximise bookings and control a busy service with times
- Supervise and support the front-of-house team—waiters,hosts, and bar staff.
- Deliver top-tier customer service, handling complaints and special requests with ease.
- Assist with training and mentoring new staff, encouraging a high-performing, motivated team.
- Uphold hygiene, health & safety, and service standards.
- Manage shift rotas and staffing levels to meet demand.
- Oversee cash handling, till procedures, and end-of-day cashing up.
- Report performance and feedback to the General Manager.
- Support event nights, promotions, and seasonal menus.
