Assistant Manager
Full-Time | Charters Bar | Oaka Group | Peterborough
Charters is one of Peterborough's most iconic pub and live music venues, and we're looking for an ambitious and experienced Assistant Manager to help lead our busy operation.
Working closely with the General Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the venue, ensuring exceptional customer service, high operational standards, and strong team performance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their management career within the growing Oaka Group.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the General Manager in the daily operation of the venue
· Lead shifts and ensure outstanding customer service at all times
· Train, coach and motivate the front of house team
· Assist with recruitment, inductions and staff development
· Help manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships
· Support rota planning, payroll checks and team organisation
· Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and licensing regulations
· Monitor cash handling, tills and financial procedures
· Help organise private events, live music and promotions
· Drive sales, profitability and operational performance
· Organise staff responsibilities, and team performance
· Open and close the venue, ensuring smooth service at all times
Requirements
· Essential requirement: Personal License
· Previous management experience in a busy hospitality environment
· A confident and positive person who uses initiative with a can-do attitude
· Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
· Strong knowledge of stock control, cash handling and team management
· Flexible to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
· Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
