Mega Nursing & Care is seeking Experienced Reablement Care Assistants in Bedfordshire to support individuals to regain their independence following illness, injury, hospital discharge or changes in their health. Our Reablement Care Assistants play a vital role in helping people remain safely in their own homes while improving their confidence, mobility and daily living skills.
We are looking for compassionate, motivated and experienced individuals who are passionate about promoting independence rather than simply providing care.

Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Community Care Assistant, Support Worker, Reablement Care Assistant or Healthcare Assistant.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Own vehicle with appropriate business insurance.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Basic IT skills for completing electronic care records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, caring and professional approach.
- Willingness to travel across Bedfordshire.
- Must be available to work every other weekend.
- Right to work in the UK.

A key part of your role is supporting people to regain confidence and independence by encouraging them to do as much as possible for themselves, rather than doing tasks for them.
Personal Care
Supporting clients with washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, continence care and personal hygiene while promoting dignity, choice and independence.
Medication
Assisting clients with medication safely and accurately in accordance with their care plans and company policies. Full medication training will be provided.
Reablement Support
Helping clients regain daily living skills following illness, injury or hospital discharge through encouragement, motivation and structured support.
Mobility Assistance
Supporting clients with safe moving and handling, transfers, walking practice and mobility exercises, whilst promoting confidence and reducing the risk of falls.
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Supporting individuals to regain everyday skills including dressing, preparing meals, making drinks, washing dishes, laundry, shopping and maintaining a safe home environment.
Meal Preparation
Preparing healthy and nutritious meals while encouraging clients to participate as much as they are able.
Goal-Focused Care
Working towards personalised reablement goals by encouraging clients to improve their mobility, confidence and independence throughout every visit.
Functional Assessments
Experienced staff may carry out or contribute to service user assessments, reviews and reassessments. Candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and willingness to learn will receive full training to undertake assessments confidently.
Monitoring Progress
Observing, recording and reporting changes in a client's physical health, mental wellbeing, mobility, independence and overall progress using electronic care records.
Falls Prevention
Supporting clients to move safely, identifying hazards within the home and reporting concerns to reduce the risk of falls and promote safe independent living.
Hospital Discharge Support
Supporting individuals returning home after hospital by helping them rebuild confidence and safely resume everyday activities.
Running Errands
Collecting prescriptions, shopping for groceries and supporting clients with essential errands to maintain their independence.
Light Domestic Duties
Supporting with household tasks including laundry, changing bedding, vacuuming, dusting and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
Community Access
Supporting clients to attend GP appointments, therapy sessions, shopping trips, social activities, community groups and family visits to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing.
Companionship
Providing emotional support, building trusting relationships and encouraging social engagement to improve confidence and emotional wellbeing.
Working with Healthcare Professionals
Working alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, District Nurses, Social Workers and other healthcare professionals to help clients achieve their reablement goals.
Documentation
Completing accurate electronic care records, documenting observations, progress, incidents and communicating effectively with the wider care team.
Safeguarding
Recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns promptly while maintaining professional boundaries and following all organisational policies and procedures.
Health & Safety
Working safely in accordance with company policies, infection prevention procedures, moving and handling guidance and medication policies.
Professional Development
Taking part in mandatory training, supervision, competency assessments and continuous professional development to maintain high standards of care.
Working Times
Morning Shifts
7:00am – 3:00pm
Evening Shifts
3:00pm – 10:00pm
Long Days
Between 7:00am – 10:00pm
Candidates must also be available to work at least three long shifts per week (7:00am–10:00pm), including every other weekend.
Areas Covered
Applicants must be willing to travel across Bedfordshire to support service users in their own homes.
