Overview
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Dog Walker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and exercise for dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety and happiness during walks. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the physical capability to handle active pets. Duties
- Take dogs on scheduled walks in designated neighbourhoods or parks, ensuring their safety at all times
- Monitor dogs’ behaviour during walks, recognising signs of distress or discomfort
- Provide basic animal care, including feeding, administering medication if required, and cleaning up after pets
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their dog’s behaviour, health, or special needs
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including cleaning leashes and other equipment after each walk
- Follow specific instructions from pet owners regarding walking routes, handling techniques, or special care requirements
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during all activities
Experience
- Previous veterinary experience or animal care background is highly desirable
- Experience in customer service is beneficial for effectively communicating with pet owners
- Ability to handle large or heavy dogs safely and confidently is preferred
- A genuine passion for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential
- Physical fitness to manage active walks and handle dogs of various sizes throughout the day
- No formal qualifications are required; however, experience with animal handling will be considered an advantage
