We currently have an opportunity for a graduate Architectural Technologist/Technician to join our Planning Department based at our Head Office in Shrewsbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a rapidly expanding and fast-paced department within a renowned, market leading company. The full-time position is a long-term role managing a varied caseload, with considerable opportunity for career progression.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
· Assist with the preparation of concept drawings, planning applications, and building regulations submissions.
· Produce detailed architectural drawings and documents using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
· Prepare reports, specifications, and design documentation.
· Research building materials, products, sustainability practices, and relevant regulations.
· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
· Understanding of building regulations, planning processes, and construction methods.
· Degree in Architecture or a related discipline is desirable.
· Strong design, technical drawing, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
In addition to having the necessary experience in the above, candidates will also be expected to have the following attributes:
- Relevant educational background (qualified or studying) in Architectural Technologist or similar allied discipline.
- Good knowledge of construction and building law.
- Able to competently use Autodesk or Drawing Express (by Trial Systems) design package as a minimum, with other software packages a bonus eg, other 2D, 3D rendering packages, ie, Google Sketchup.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with longstanding clients.
- Excellent organisational skills ensuring the highest level of client service provided.
- Demonstrated competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), Autodesk, Drawing Express (by Trial Systems).
- Have a full UK driving licence.
