Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter/Joiner to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience in fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand and power tools. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and construction painting. The successful applicant will be instrumental in delivering high-quality craftsmanship for residential, commercial, or industrial builds. Duties
- Fabricate and assemble wooden structures and components according to project specifications
- Operate hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers, and screwdrivers with precision
- Utilise power tools including drills, saws, and sanders safely and effectively
- Install joinery elements such as doors, windows, cabinets, and mouldings
- Assist with roofing tasks by installing trusses or sheathing as required
- Perform heavy lifting of materials safely to ensure smooth workflow on site
- Conduct construction painting tasks to finish surfaces as needed
- Support plumbing and electrical installations where applicable
- Carry out masonry work for structural or aesthetic purposes
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace adhering to health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and assembly processes
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in carpentry and joinery
- Experience in roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work or construction painting is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Good understanding of health and safety standards on construction sites
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or joinery are desirable but not essential
