VEHICLE TECHNICIAN
We are a busy family run independent garage seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our small team. Ideally you will have an MOT tester license but if not, you should be willing and qualify to take MOT tester training.
The successful candidate will be a vehicle technician with proven experience , responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of vehicles while ensuring they meet all legal safety and environmental standards. You will need to have experience with timing belts, wet belts, clutches and a reasonable knowledge on diagnositcs. Duties
- Repair and replace components including brakes, suspension, steering, tyres, clutches, timing belts, wet belts etc
- Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using specialist diagnostic equipment.
- Carry out vehicle inspections and identify any additional repair requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently.
- Friendly and approachable manner and able to deliver great customer service.
- Complete all work to a high standard within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and servicing.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified vehicle mechanic/technician.
- Ideally have a valid MOT Tester license (class 4) or be willing to do the training.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Competent in the use of workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and modern repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Hold a full UK driving license
Working Hours
- 8.30 - 5.30 Monday -Friday
Salary
Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
