Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Washdown Operative to join our team at Melton Mowbray Market. This role involves ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of livestock areas within a busy auction environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, contributing to the smooth operation of our facilities.
Duties
- Utilise high volume hoses to wash market
- Use steam wash to clean specified areas as required
- Operate specialised cleaning equipment to remove residues, dirt, and debris from production areas
- Assist in the disassembly and reassembly of penning areas
- Follow health and safety procedures during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules and tasks completed
- Support the team with general site upkeep and organisation to promote a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning or a similar role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Awareness of health and safety regulations relevant to industrial environments
- Physically fit, with the ability to perform manual tasks and work in demanding conditions
