An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the operational team at our Newhaven Wharf. Reporting to the Wharf Manager, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient processing of marine dredged aggregates into high-quality products for our customers.
This hands-on role involves operating both mobile and fixed plant, managing the movement of materials across the site, and loading road and rail transport to ensure excellent customer service is maintained. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the wharf by working collaboratively with colleagues to identify improvements and support operational excellence.
About Your Role
- Operate mobile and fixed plant safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures.
- Process marine dredged aggregates into saleable products.
- Load customer vehicles and rail wagons in a safe and timely manner.
- Carry out routine inspections, safety checks and basic maintenance activities.
- Report all accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses promptly.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and stockpile management across the site.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure compliance with SHEQ policies and procedures.
- Support customers collecting materials from the wharf, providing a professional and efficient service.
- Assist with site improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
