Valiant Homes is an Ofsted-registered Supported Accommodation provider supporting young people aged 16–17 as they prepare for adulthood and independent living.
We are growing our permanent team and are looking for two calm, reliable and caring Support Workers to join our sleeping-night team.
This is an important role within our service. You’ll provide support during the evening and morning and a safe, reassuring presence overnight, helping our young people feel secure and supported in their home.
Shift pattern and pay
A typical shift runs from 18:00 until 08:30.
Active working hours are:
18:00–23:00
06:00–08:30
These hours are paid at £12.80–£13.50 per hour, depending on experience.
The designated sleep-in period is 23:00–06:00, for which a £70 sleep-in payment is made.
This means a typical full shift pays approximately £166–£171, subject to the applicable hourly rate and any additional payment due where work is required during the designated sleep-in period.
Suitable sleeping facilities are provided. During the sleep-in period, you will normally be expected to sleep while remaining available should a young person require support or an incident occur.
Any work required during the sleep-in period must be appropriately recorded and will be dealt with in accordance with Valiant Homes’ sleep-in arrangements and applicable National Minimum Wage requirements.

Who we’re looking for
Experience matters, but character, judgement and values matter enormously to us.
We’re looking for people who are:
Calm – you can think clearly when somebody else is struggling.

Experience
Previous experience within supported accommodation, children’s residential care, youth work, homelessness, education, mental health, social care or a similar environment would be beneficial.
However, we also welcome applicants with strong transferable experience who demonstrate the maturity, values and judgement required to work safely with young people.
Our values
Everything we do at Valiant Homes is built around:
Safety | Kindness | Respect | Independence | Growth | Excellence | Belonging
Our mission is:
Helping young people feel safe, valued and prepared for independent living.
We want our homes to feel like homes, not institutions.
That means creating warmth and belonging alongside clear expectations, appropriate boundaries and excellent safeguarding practice.
