As a Planning Archaeologist, you will play a vital role in preserving Nottinghamshire's archaeological heritage. This two-year position offers a rare opportunity to provide expert advice on development proposals and policies that impact our archaeological resource.
In this exciting role, you will:

Advise on development proposals and planning policies affecting archaeology.

Collaborate with planning teams, developers and other historic environment specialists, including Historic England.

Ensure compliance with current legislation and national/ local policies and guidance.

Provide specialist advice, guidance and recommendations to protect Nottinghamshire's archaeological heritage.

Engage with stakeholders and communities to promote understanding and awareness of the archaeology of Nottinghamshire.
To be successful in this role, you should have:

A degree in archaeology or a related field.

Experience in providing planning advice related to archaeology.

Knowledge of British archaeology and current archaeological policies and practices.

Proficiency in using IT applications, including Historic Environment Records.
