About GoBoat & Thames Ditton Boatyard
GoBoat offers unique, sustainable boating experiences with a focus on social connection and the feeling of freedom. Customers captain their own electric boats, charting their own adventures with friends and family.
We operate a fleet of 57 rental boats across four sites on the River Thames: Paddington, Canary Wharf, Kingston, and Thames Ditton. Our Thames Ditton Boatyard, launched in 2024, is our primary maintenance hub. Alongside supporting the GoBoat fleet, we are growing a private boat maintenance business with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and customer experience. This includes a new offering of converting boats from petrol to electric.
The Role
We're looking for a skilled, hands-on Boatyard Technician to join our growing engineering team. This is a broad, technical role covering electric drive systems, outboard engines, hull and GRP repairs, and general vessel upkeep and cleaning.
You'll be working at the heart of our operation, keeping a 57-boat fleet safe, reliable, and looking great. You'll be trained and supported by experienced colleagues, with clear routes to progression as you develop. No two days are the same, and we want someone who enjoys getting stuck in and solving problems.
Key Responsibilities
Every day will be different. Below is an outline of the work we do and your role will be to help deliver these activities with the rest of our team.
