Job Title: Cleaning Supervisor
Location: Horsham
Contract: Permanent – Full Time 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 1:30pm to 9:30pm
Rate of Pay: £15.50 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at the Thermo-Fisher Scientific site in Horsham.
This is a hands-on supervisory role where you will lead the cleaning team and ensure consistently high standards are maintained across the site. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the cleaning service, including allocating work, monitoring standards, managing rotas and supporting the team.
As the role operates within a standards and compliance-led environment, attention to detail and a strong approach to health, safety and cleaning procedures are essential.
- ️ IMPORTANT – TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
This role is based on-site in Horsham, and candidates must be able to travel to and from the site by car.
There is no suitable public transport access to the site, so please ensure you have reliable access to a car for your commute before applying.
The site is accessed via a long country road with no pavement or street lighting, meaning walking to the site from the nearest public transport route is not a suitable option.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the cleaning team to deliver consistently high standards

Allocate daily tasks and manage rotas, absence and holiday cover

Carry out regular quality checks and ensure cleaning standards are maintained

Train and support team members, ensuring compliance with site procedures

Ensure Health & Safety, COSHH, GMP and safe working practices are followed

Manage cleaning equipment, materials and stock levels

Complete required records, checks and compliance documentation

Work closely with management and the client to resolve issues and maintain excellent service
What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Cleaning Supervisor is essential

Proven experience leading, supporting and organising a cleaning team

Good knowledge of professional cleaning methods, equipment and materials

Strong understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and safe working practices

Experience working to high standards in a compliance-focused environment

Confident managing rotas, allocating workloads and monitoring cleaning standards

Strong communication, organisation and people-management skills

Reliable, proactive and able to resolve day-to-day operational issues

Experience in a GMP, pharmaceutical, laboratory or regulated environment would be advantageous

Relevant cleaning, IOSH, COSHH or BICSc qualifications would be beneficial
