Assembly Technician/ Warehouse Operative
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Manufacturing/ Assembling Hose Reels and associated equipment.
2. Order picking, pre-shipment inspection and preparation of orders for dispatch
3. Assembly of products in accordance to instructions & guidelines
4. Packing and goods outwards – forklift license will be required.
5. Goods Receiving, inspection, putting away – forklift license will be required.
6. Organising freight collections via designated online software
7. Fault finding hardware and repairing electronic products
8. Testing and investigating
9. Generating repair reports
10. Service and maintenance
11. Unloading and loading containers/ vehicles
12. Carrying out minor repairs
13. Producing and Completing shipping documents
14. End Product Quality checks and testing
15. Regular Stock count
16. Assist other companies within the Group to carry out Other duties if and when required
17. General upkeep of the warehouse.
18. Other duties as assigned relative to this position
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure orders are shipped in time and in accordance to routing / shipping instructions
· Ensure that all shop orders (assembly), service work and/or repairs are carried out in time and completed within the time frame set
· Timely inform ADMIN of any delay in the completion and/or dispatch of orders
· Maintain high product / quality standards. Servicing, repairs and assembly orders to be carried out in accordance to company instructions
· Proper use, maintenance & storage of tools, machinery, equipment & P.P.E. in accordance to the instructions supplied by the supplier and or the company
· Proper accounting of incoming / outgoing goods in accordance to company procedures and instructions
· Responsible for maintaining stock levels on packing and shipping materials/documents and consumables
· Observe health & safety instructions in general and inform management of possible health & safety risks as a result of defects / misuse or mishandling of tools & equipment
· Overall tidiness of warehouse and assembly area
REPORTING
· Goods received & Non conformity (quantity & quality control)
· Inventory checks
· Stock levels & requirements for packing and shipping materials / documents and consumables
· Returned goods inspection & recommendations
· Defects, dysfunction, faults and damages of machinery, tools, equipment and P.P.E.
REQUIREMENTS
· Proven know how of physical distribution & logistics (education and/or experience)
· Technical abilities and affinity
· Good product knowledge & understanding, service orientated
· Forklift drivers license (necessary requirement)
· Fluent in English (speaking & writing)
· Educated to GCSE or equivalent standard.
· Confident and self-motivated
· Able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
· A background in the manufacture of hose and assemblies would be an advantage though not essential as training will be given.
· A current valid forklift license is essential
· Basic computer skills.
· The candidate must possess and maintain a valid clean UK driver’s license as external driving may be required occasionally.
· The candidate will receive initial and ongoing product and technical training to enable them to carry out their daily duties.
