Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse/Yard Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with materials handling, shipping and receiving, and maintaining organisation within the warehouse and yard areas. Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Manage materials movement within the warehouse and yard areas, maintaining organisation and cleanliness
- Support warehouse management
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on mechanical equipment and tools
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely, following proper manual handling procedures
- Assist with general yard duties such as organising storage areas and preparing goods for dispatch
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of daily operational goals
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of forklift operation is highly desirable; certification is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge or construction experience will be considered an asset
- Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, or load & unload operations is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Demonstrated reliability, organisational skills, and a strong commitment to safety standards
Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
