Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sandwich Maker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of delicious sandwiches while ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene. You will play a vital part in delivering exceptional customer service, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere, and promoting our menu offerings through effective upselling techniques.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches according to customer specifications and menu guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, cooking meats, and preparing sauces.
- Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and promote daily specials through upselling.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
- Conduct regular checks on inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer experiences.
Experience
- Previous experience in a culinary or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is advantageous.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing inventory are required.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for food preparation and an eagerness to learn new techniques in the kitchen are essential attributes for success in this role.
