Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be proficient in using hand and power tools. This role involves working on site developments for Persimmons Homes projects, residential housing. The Carpenter will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards and project specifications.
Carpenters must have worked on fast moving site developments!
Duties
- Construct, install, structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials.
- Perform joinery tasks including 1st fix, 2nd fix and finals.
- Ensure all work is plumb, level, and square according to specifications.
- Operate hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and drills with precision.
- Use power tools safely and effectively for various carpentry tasks.
- Assist with roofing tasks including framing and installation of roofing materials.
- Undertake heavy lifting of materials as necessary for project completion.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid CSCS card with the relevant qualifications.
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using both hand tools and power tools safely.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with carpentry work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A valid driving licence may be beneficial for travel between job sites.
