Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles, primarily flatbed trucks, to deliver goods efficiently and reliably to various destinations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery operations will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed trucks and other heavy goods vehicles to transport goods across designated routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load, secure, and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety protocols.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimize time and fuel efficiency while meeting delivery deadlines.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip.
- Communicate proactively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during every journey.
Requirements
- Valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, specifically with flatbed or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations, safety standards, and cargo securing techniques.
- Delivery driver experience with excellent navigation skills and route planning abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads securely on flatbeds.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends if required.
