TEMPORARY KITCHEN PORTER / POT WASHER
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Temporary Kitchen Porter to join our vibrant kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the culinary staff. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Vacancies Available:
- Weekend 12hr contract - 2 days out of 7. Saturday 10am - 5pm and Sunday 10:30 - 5pm ) but days shifts may vary depending on needs of business. Flexibility is key.
Weekend availability is essential.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff during service by providing assistance as needed.
- Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as necessary.
- Participate in regular cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- A passion for hospitality and providing excellent service.
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the business needs.
