Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and vigilant Part Time Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the site, preventing loss, and responding promptly to incidents. This role offers flexible hours suitable for individuals seeking part-time employment, with an emphasis on maintaining a secure environment through attentive surveillance and proactive security measures.
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and identify potential security risks.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, to observe activity across different areas.
- Implement loss prevention strategies by recognising suspicious behaviour and intervening when necessary.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, including providing first aid if required.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate effectively with management regarding security concerns.
- Enforce access control procedures by checking identification and authorisation of visitors and staff.
- Assist in organising evacuation procedures during emergencies, ensuring all personnel are accounted for.
Skills
- Proven experience or knowledge in surveillance techniques and loss prevention methods.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and monitoring software is highly desirable.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Basic first aid skills are an advantage, enabling prompt assistance during medical incidents.
- Excellent observational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and visitors.
- Organised and dependable, with a professional attitude towards duty responsibilities.
